How to Setup Gmail IMAP Settings

1. Go to the homepage of Gmail Account and click on the settings icon there to go to the options where you can change the IMAP settings.

2. Click on "Forwarding and POP/IMAP” to view the options on the second page after clicking on the gear icon.

3. Enable the IMAP settings and then click on Save changes.

4. Now, set up the outlook account by searching it there and click "Yes" afterward.

5. This step will have several substeps and you can follow them as follows.

• Add your name in the first box.
• The type of email address that you want to synchronize.
• Select "IMAP” as the account type.
• Now, type "imap.gmail.com” and move to the next step. In case, if you select POP, then "pop.gmail.com” goes in the empty field.
• In the next step, type "smtp.gmail.com” in the empty field.
• In the username, type an email address that you added above.
• Password of the username entered in the empty field above.

6. Just add an email address and password at the next page and click on the "Next" and That's it.

That's all you have to do on the Gmail website. And you can use outlook for now on and you can get the emails on the Gmail account on the outlook and you have not to worry about the security in this situation if you are using the updated version of the outlook settings.
